Today (well yesterday) I heard 3 people talk about "camping." I put camping in " " because each of them talked about it in the sense that they do so in campers or trailers. I can't help but think, after years of vacationing with my family staying in nothing but our two room tent and years staying in platform tents and brushshelters with my girl scout troop or as camp staff, that trailer "camping" can't possibly be real camping at all.
Tents. Fires. Non-running water. No electricity. That's camping.
Ground pads. Sleeping bags. Camp stoves. Camping.
There are art snobs, theatre snobs, music snobs. I think I'm a camp snob. How oxymoronic.
